A Meeting Held for Establishing SIMs Registration Advanced System

ATRA leadership had a meeting with representatives for telecom companies, and the meeting was attended by Mufti Najmuddin Mullahkhel, ATRA Admin and Finance Vice- Chairman, Board Members, Directors for relevant departments and representatives for telecom companies chaired by Mauwlavi Saeed Baraat Shah Agha Nadeem, ATRA Chairman.

The participants had thorough discussions on creating information system for SIMs registration. The system may connect sales system and other systems related to telecom network with electronic ID cards of National Information and Statistics Authority (NISA). So, it enables verifying identity of subscribers holding SIMs by connecting this system and once their identity is verified, SIMs will be distributed to them. All the companies were instructed to take steps in practice for implementing this system.

The meeting also talked over low quality of telecom and internet services and the issue was raised and shared with telecom companies due to complaints received from the customers. Thus, instructions were given to the senior officials of the companies to take necessary and crucial actions in this respect so that the citizens use high quality of services.
