ATRA and AFtel Sign Contracts for Building 1000 PCOs and Linking 9 Universities with Optical Fiber Network

Afghanistan Telecom Regulatory Authority (ATRA) and Afghan Telecom Company signed a contract for building 1000 PCOs in remotes areas of 34 provinces in the country. Afghan Telecom was declared as the winner of the project during the bidding process of the project conducted by ATRA for promoting universal access.

Implementing the project will enable a large number of the Afghan citizens living in remote areas to get benefited from the services.
Similarly, the contract for connecting 9 universities of the country to optical fiber network was signed between ATRA and Afghan Telecom. The project will interconnect the universities and provide fast internet services as well. The above-mentioned projects are funded by MCIT/ATRA Telecom Development Fund (TDF).
