ATRA and Consumer Protection Directorate of Ministry of Commerce and Industries Held Joint Meeting for Sharing Work Experiences about Consumer Protection

The meeting was held between the officials of Afghanistan Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (ATRA) and Consumer Protection Directorate of Ministry of Commerce and Industries at ATRA office. At the meeting, ATRA officials presented major highlights about the framework of consumer protection unit and the complaints' management system of the authority and gave comprehensive information in this regard. Moreover the ATRA officials stated that after operating the new complaints management system, the complaints have been reduced to a great extent in comparison to the previous years.

The objective of the meeting was to learn best practices of ATRA in regard to Consumer protection. Consumer protection Directorate of Ministry of Commerce and Industries plans to establish a similar Complaints Management System in that ministry for the consumers of commerce and industries services.
AT the end of the meeting, both parties expressed their gratitude for mutual cooperation and exchange of experiences between their organizations, particularly in the field of consumer protection and considered the meeting as a positive and precious step in this regard.
