A Fixed-Line Telephone Network Inaugurated in Herat

In order to further develop and expand the telecom service in the country, The Minister of Communication and IT (MCIT), Mr Amirzai Sangin inaugurated digital telephone switch in Herat Province which will provide lined services to 12000 residents. The inaugurated ceremony was attended by Governor of Herat province Dr.Dawood Shah Saba, members of provincial council of Herat and representatives of local communities of Herat City. In his addressing on the occasion, Mr Sangin said that the Network will provide 12000 citizens, families, and commercial organizations with high speed telephone and internet services.
Afterwards, Dr.Dawood Shah Saba the Governor of Herat spoke on behalf of the people of Herat and appreciated the activities and efforts of MCIT for the development program of telecom services in the province.
During his visit to Herat, Minister Sangin also opened the Optical Fiber link that connects Shindand district to Herat city.
To implement the 45 presidential decree and to expand telecommunication services to remote areas, Minister Sangin visited Karukh district as well. He also visited the telecom establishments in the mentioned districts.
